Retail Sales Associate
About The Position
EZCORP is hiring Retail Sales Associates, also described as Retail Customer Service Representatives (Pawnbrokers), for its EZPawn store at 1710 Shaver St., Pasadena, Texas. The role provides daily customer interaction and involves helping customers buy and sell items and reaching mutually satisfactory agreements regarding pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team Members are expected to create a friendly, courteous, and respectful customer environment. New hires start as Trainees in a five-week paid training program. Upon successful completion, they receive a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Team Members may continue through the Pawnbroker Certification Program for an additional $1 per hour, pursue promotion to Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Manager), or apply for Store Manager in Training, which includes a 12-week training program. Pay is based on experience, with a stated range of $11.00 to $15.00 per hour, and there is monthly uncapped bonus potential based on store and individual performance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
- Self-motivation, a positive and outgoing personality, and a strong work ethic.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of commonly pawned items, such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
- Sales background.
- Bilingual ability.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and interact with them in person and by phone.
- Provide excellent customer service and build customer relationships.
- Help customers reach mutually satisfactory agreements regarding pawn items, including jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments.
- Process sales, loans, and extensions.
- Perform store opening and closing duties.
- Adhere to Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
