About The Position

Portland Leather Goods is hiring a part-time Retail Sales Associate at its Chicago, Illinois retail location. The role focuses on providing customer-centered service tailored to each customer’s needs, assisting with product selection, and creating positive customer experiences. The associate will also keep the store clean, organized, and stocked, and follow safety policies to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees. Weekend availability is required. The position pays $18.00 per hour. Employees must reside in the same state as the assigned store location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or higher.
• Must be available to work weekends.
• Customer service or retail experience required.
• Must be a team player.
• Familiarity with POS systems and ability to learn new systems.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to move merchandise between the backroom and sales floor using appropriate equipment.
• Ability to place and arrange merchandise on shelves and racks.
• Ability to climb and descend ladders while carrying merchandise.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds or more with assistance.
• Ability to remain on feet for at least 8 hours per shift and continuously move throughout the store.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, or balance for extended periods.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, reports, and information on computer or register screens, and input information into a computer.
• Must reside in the same state as the assigned retail store location.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; the employer participates in E-Verify.
