About The Position

As a Seasonal Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-focused selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable holiday shopping experiences. You learn what customers need, provide personalized recommendations, and connect them with appropriate products and services. Through customer engagement, product knowledge, and smart selling behaviors, you work toward sales goals, build trust, and encourage customer loyalty. The role involves more than cashiering and includes helping maintain a clean, organized, and inviting shopping space. Colleagues prepare for the day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals, popular products, trends, and promotions, and ensuring the sales floor is ready for customers. During the day, they welcome customers and build friendly, personal relationships; merchandise new receipts; process damages, testers, and selected vendor returns; update signs and pricing; and assist with merchandise moves. They share loyalty program benefits, make sure customers have what they need, and provide a sincere, personalized farewell. Colleagues support one another, collaborate to serve customers and communities, and work to improve individual and store results. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled for 10–20 hours per week.
