About The Position

Retail Sales Associates provide fast, friendly service to customers and donors. They are knowledgeable about cash-register policies and procedures and process transactions efficiently. Associates also support merchandise production and donations while helping keep the store clean, safe, accessible, and organized. The role supports AbleLight’s charitable fundraising efforts and contributes to the organization’s work to enhance the lives of individuals.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
One year of retail or customer service experience preferred.
Able to lift 40 pounds regularly and heavier items occasionally.
Able to stand for up to eight hours.
Able to carry items up and down stairs as needed.
Must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently.
Assist with stocking the sales floor, rotating stock, and organizing and displaying merchandise.
Answer the telephone professionally.
Sort and price merchandise according to quality and pricing guidelines.
Transfer merchandise from donor vehicles into the building and offer tax receipts to every donor.
Keep the inside and outside of the donation center and store organized and clean.
Support fundraising for AbleLight through register round-ups and other events initiated by AbleLight.
Perform other duties as assigned.
