About The Position
As a Retail Selling Colleague in women's shoes, you combine results-oriented selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable customer experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, make personalized recommendations, connect them with appropriate products and services, and use product knowledge and customer engagement to achieve sales goals and build loyalty. The role is centered on customer service and selling, rather than primarily cashiering, and includes helping maintain a clean, organized, inviting sales floor and fitting rooms. Colleagues prepare for each day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals and popular items, and staying informed about trends and promotions. During customer interactions, they offer a warm welcome, build relationships through personal conversations, and share loyalty program benefits. They help maintain a shoppable environment by recovering the sales floor and fitting rooms, updating signs and pricing, and supporting merchandise moves. Colleagues collaborate with teammates, strive to improve, and contribute to individual and store results. This is a part-time position at Macy’s Roosevelt Field. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week. Schedules include weekend shifts; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
Requirements
- Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Comfort communicating and collaborating with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities while contributing to team dynamics.
- Ability to use electronic devices.
- Ability to talk, lift, move constantly, stand, and reach with arms and hands.
- Ability to stand for at least two consecutive hours and lift at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach, including above eye level.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
Responsibilities

- Maintain clean, organized, and inviting sales floors and fitting rooms by recovering merchandise and supporting merchandise moves.
- Update signs and pricing as needed.
- Complete customer transactions using a cash register and other technology.
- Support colleagues through honest, caring, and collaborative teamwork.
- Ensure customers have what they need and end interactions with a sincere thank-you.
