About The Position

D.S. & Durga is seeking a highly energetic, customer-focused seasonal/temp Sales Associate to join its retail team in New York City. The associate will represent the brand in store, build genuine connections with customers, deliver an elevated shopping experience, and use product expertise to help clients choose suitable products. The role calls for retail selling and operational experience, a warm and driven presence on the sales floor, and appreciation for fragrance and personalized service.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working in retail or hospitality.
• Proven selling and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail store processes and procedures.
• Ability and desire to work a flexible retail schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.

Nice To Haves

• Retail or hospitality experience with a luxury product.
• Experience working with retail POS and CRM software.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales through in-store efforts and outreach, including clienteling and networking activities.
• Work with the team to meet and exceed sales goals.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers and satisfying or exceeding their needs.
• Demonstrate excellent product and brand knowledge.
• Follow established selling steps and provide a distinctive brand and product experience.
• Open and close the store, manage inventory control, and follow loss prevention standards.
• Assist customers and troubleshoot customer service issues when necessary.
• Maintain the store's general daily upkeep and help with special projects as needed.
