About The Position
D.S. & Durga is seeking a highly energetic, customer-focused seasonal/temp Sales Associate to join its retail team in New York City. The Associate will represent the brand, build genuine connections with customers, deliver an elevated in-store experience, and use product expertise to help clients find the right selection. The ideal candidate has retail selling and operational experience, a warm and driven presence on the sales floor, and an appreciation for fragrance and personalized service. The role includes driving sales and client outreach, supporting the team in meeting sales goals, providing customer service, maintaining product and brand knowledge, following the brand’s selling approach, and handling store operations such as opening and closing, inventory control, loss-prevention standards, daily upkeep, and special projects. The position pays $20 per hour, depending on experience and skills.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working in retail or hospitality.
- Proven selling and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of retail store processes and procedures.
- Ability and desire to work a flexible retail schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with retail POS and CRM software.
- Experience with luxury products.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales through in-store efforts and outreach, including clienteling and networking activities.
- Work with the team to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers and meeting or exceeding their needs.
- Demonstrate excellent product and brand knowledge.
- Follow established selling steps and provide a distinctive brand and product experience.
- Open and close the store; manage inventory control and follow loss-prevention standards.
- Assist customers and troubleshoot customer service issues when necessary.
- Perform general daily store upkeep and special projects as needed.
