About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for receiving and merchandising merchandise according to established standards, helping Associates process merchandise efficiently, and working as part of a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, exceptional service, and maintaining a clean, organized store. The position includes coordinating truck deliveries and merchandise flow to the sales floor, training and mentoring Associates, monitoring team productivity, organizing back stock, and maintaining merchandising, signage, cleanliness, and recovery standards. It also supports store safety, loss prevention, recycling and applicable hazardous-waste programs, and credit and loyalty initiatives. This is a temporary, part-time position at the Marshalls store in Clovis, California. Starting pay is $17.90–$18.40 per hour, with actual pay dependent on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive customer experience by engaging with customers and role-modeling exceptional customer service.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Coordinate truck deliveries and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient merchandise flow to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and adjust priorities as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock to support easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management to identify Associate training needs.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
