About The Position

As a Seasonal Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-driven selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable holiday shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, provide personalized recommendations, connect them with appropriate products and services, and work toward sales goals through customer engagement and effective selling behaviors. You help create an inviting shopping environment by keeping the sales floor clean, organized, and well stocked. At the start of the day, colleagues prepare the sales floor, review sales goals, learn about new arrivals, popular products, trends, and promotions, and get ready to engage customers. During the day, they build customer relationships through friendly, personal conversations; maintain merchandise presentation; process damages, testers, and selected merchandise for return to vendors; update signs and pricing; and assist with merchandise moves. They share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. Colleagues support one another and work collaboratively to achieve individual and store results. Seasonal colleagues are typically scheduled for 10–20 hours per week, depending on business needs and colleague availability.
