About The Position

As a Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-focused selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, make personalized recommendations, connect them with appropriate products and services, and work toward sales goals through customer engagement and effective selling behaviors. You help maintain a clean, organized, inviting sales floor and fitting rooms, and contribute to a welcoming and collaborative store environment.

Colleagues prepare for the day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals, top-selling items, trends, and promotions. Throughout the day, they welcome and assist customers, build relationships, maintain shoppable spaces, recover the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and support merchandise moves. They share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled for 30 or more hours per week. Schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.

• Frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and ability to process register transactions.
