About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate assists customers, donors, and others with merchandise selection, suggestion selling, and cashiering in a courteous and professional manner. The position works in a retail store and supports sales-floor operations, customer service, merchandising, and a clean and safe environment. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned or changed at any time.

Requirements

No experience required.
Ability to learn new technology and software related to the job.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods and frequently bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push, and climb ladders.
Ability to travel across varied surfaces, including stairs, ramps, and uneven terrain.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including with people who have limited English skills.
Reliable attendance.
Ability to organize, sort, categorize, count, add, and subtract; interpret data; solve problems; and communicate with the public.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Proactively acknowledge, greet, and assist customers in any area of the store.
Assist customers and donors in a timely, courteous manner by answering questions or directing them to a supervisor.
Process cash, check, and credit card transactions; close out the cash drawer and balance point-of-sale transactions.
Communicate through standard telephone and wireless audio systems.
Merchandise and restock items and provide general floor maintenance as needed.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Support team members and assist supervisors and leads when necessary.
Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks.
Follow safe work practices, watch for potential hazards or accidents, and report them.
Perform other duties as assigned.
