About The Position
Sun Tan City is hiring a part-time Retail Sales Associate in Shelbyville, Kentucky. The role focuses on providing friendly, professional customer service and knowledge-based recommendations for salon products and services. Associates build relationships with clients, learn and meet their needs, maintain minimum sales requirements, and contribute to a clean, upbeat, fast-paced salon. The position requires working effectively with teammates and, as business needs require, independently and alone during shifts. Pay starts at $11.50 per hour or more, with performance bonuses; the stated average earnings of $15.50 per hour are not guaranteed and depend on meeting performance and training criteria. Requirements
- Basic computer skills and knowledge.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
- Ability to bend at the waist to clean tanning equipment.
- Ability to lift or assist in lifting items and heavy boxes.
- Ability to bend down to pick up trash, towels, and other items from floors.
- Ability to perform salon cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
- Ability to work independently and alone during shifts as business needs require.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent, professional customer service and ensure clients’ needs are met.
- Engage with clients, build good relationships, and understand and meet their needs.
- Recommend products and services to clients.
- Maintain minimum sales requirements.
- Multitask, including cleaning tanning beds as clients leave and engaging new clients as they arrive.
- Help maintain cleanliness in tanning rooms, the lobby, restrooms, laundry, and storage areas.
- Work cohesively with a team in an upbeat, fast-paced salon environment while following company policies and procedures.
- Work independently and alone during shifts when business needs require.
