Seasonal Retail Sales and Recovery Associate, Westland
About The Position
As a Retail Sales & Recovery Colleague, you create a welcoming shopping experience through genuine hospitality and attention to detail. You help keep the store clean, organized, and visually engaging by maintaining merchandise displays, tidying fitting rooms, and ensuring the sales floor is customer-ready. You provide friendly, high-quality service and support the team in achieving sales goals. Colleagues prepare the sales floor for customers, stay informed about goals, new arrivals, top sellers, and promotions, and engage customers with a warm welcome and personal conversations. Throughout the day, they recover the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and support merchandise moves. They share Loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and collaborate with teammates to serve customers and communities. The role involves taking pride in work, pursuing improvement, and contributing to individual and store results. This is a seasonal position. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Macy’s describes full-time colleagues as typically working 30 or more hours per week and part-time colleagues as typically working 12–24 hours per week.
Requirements
- Understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Have flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Be resourceful, adaptable to changing priorities, able to work independently, and effective in a team.
- Be comfortable using electronic devices.
- Be able to talk, lift, move constantly, stand, and reach with arms and hands.
- Be able to stand for at least two consecutive hours and lift at least 25 pounds.
- Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach, including above eye level.
- Have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
