Retail Pharmacy Technician - Twin Falls
About The Position
St. Luke’s is hiring a Retail Pharmacy Technician for the Magic Valley Medical Center Pharmacy in Twin Falls, Idaho. Pharmacy Technicians support patient-focused care by preparing and delivering medications, submitting insurance claims, entering prescription data, coordinating medication synchronization, and assisting patients in person and by phone. Retail pharmacy programs include retail services, MicroPharmacy, Med Locker, Meds-to-Beds, and Hospice. Depending on the service, technicians may prepare and deliver medications to community and facility medication lockers, contact patients when prescriptions are ready, fill take-home medications for pharmacist delivery to patients before discharge, or coordinate prescription fills with behavioral health clinic providers, patients, and pharmacy systems. The position is full-time, with variable eight-hour shifts and rotating Saturdays. The role offers certification assistance, certification pay for PTCB advanced certification, preceptor pay, opportunities to work with other disciplines, and opportunities to develop pharmacy skills and advance into leadership or pharmacy business positions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Idaho pharmacy technician license.
Nice To Haves
- One or more years of experience.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver patients’ medications.
- Submit insurance claims and enter prescription data.
- Coordinate medication synchronization.
- Assist patients in person and over the phone.
- Prepare and deliver medications to medication lockers and communicate with patients when prescriptions are ready for pickup.
- Fill take-home medications for pharmacists to deliver to patients before discharge.
- For behavioral health retail services, coordinate prescription fills with clinic providers, patients, and pharmacy systems.
