About The Position

Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, the Retail Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. The role provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors, and staff. The position is located at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital and is a full-time day-shift role.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training program, or two years of college with emphasis in math, science, or medical field applications.
• Fully licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in the State of Michigan.
• Pharmacy Technician licensure.
• Two years of pharmacy work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, and distribute medication orders according to established policies, procedures, and protocols, based on physician or pharmacist requests or prearranged work assignments.
• Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the effective and quality operation of the department.
• Maintain logs, records, required files, and documentation.
• Answer telephone and pneumatic tube communications and handle cash transactions.
• Prepare IV admixtures and other sterile products.
• Process medication charges and credits according to established policy.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
