About The Position

The Retail Parts Pro is a full-time, professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, parts, store inventory, and maintenance processes. The Retail Parts Pro helps DIY customers identify and troubleshoot automotive issues, provides project assistance, and sources parts through special orders, FDO, second sources, and other channels. The position facilitates sales and customer service in person and by phone, supports sales and service objectives, provides DIY services, and performs key-holder duties. It also assists with inventory, store cleanliness, and maintaining store appearance standards. The role requires 3–5 years of prior automotive parts experience, demonstrated sales ability, a valid driver’s license, and successful completion of the Parts Knowledge Assessment. ASE certification is preferred but not required.

Requirements

3–5 years of prior automotive parts experience.
Proven sales ability, with past experience fulfilling customer transactions.
Valid driver's license.
Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability, including internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic systems, and exhaust.
Ability to speak and write English; communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management. Spanish is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals, and to write simple correspondence.
Ability to understand and execute written, oral, or diagram-form instructions.
Ability to accurately perform basic math using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel effectively.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

Spanish language skills.
ASE certification.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the selling experience for DIY customers visiting the store and calling by phone.
Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
Manage DIY services, including battery installation and testing and wiper installation.
Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance.
Perform key-holder responsibilities, including assigning and completing tasks, promoting safety, and opening and closing duties.
Assist with inventory processes, including truck put-away, shoot-outs, cycle counts, and back stock.
Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
Provide DIY services, including battery installation and testing and wiper installation.
