About The Position

Nouria Energy Corporation is a multi-generational, family-owned wholesale fuel distributor, convenience store operator, and car wash operator in New England. The company operates more than 150 company-operated convenience store locations and supplies branded and unbranded fuel to more than 300 locations across New England and New York.

Sales Associates are responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the station during their shift, in accordance with company policy. The role helps support store profitability and growth while meeting customer needs and delivering friendly, courteous service. Team members are expected to work flexibly as needed, communicate promptly with management about store operations and issues, prepare an end-of-shift report, and follow company procedures. The position also involves maintaining customer areas and store facilities, supporting safety and health programs, and operating assigned equipment safely.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Read, understand, and write English at an eighth-grade level.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule as needed.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Be able to validate identification before selling tobacco and/or alcohol as required by regulations.
• Lift up to 30 pounds and carry cases of milk, soft drinks, beer, and juice using proper lifting techniques; must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Remain calm and respond according to policies and procedures during emergencies.
• Tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
• Work in varied temperature environments, including coolers, outdoors in different weather conditions, and inside the store.
• Traverse and access all areas of the store.
• Stand for prolonged periods and sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate the station properly and efficiently during the assigned shift in accordance with company policy.
• Support the store’s profitability and growth while meeting customers’ needs.
• Provide a positive customer experience, greet customers warmly, suggest purchases, promote specials, and carry out the customer service program at the site.
• Communicate verbally and in writing with management about store operations, including changes or issues that could adversely affect operations.
• Prepare a shift report at the end of the shift according to company guidelines.
• Take steps to minimize safety risks to employees, customers, and suppliers; enforce environmental and hazardous-material regulations; and support the Safety and Health program.
• Maintain store safety and security, document accidents and incidents, and promptly report workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses.
• Maintain the customer environment inside and around the store perimeter, and perform general housekeeping and facility-maintenance duties.
• Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
• Complete the new employee safety orientation procedure.
• Validate identification before selling tobacco and/or alcohol as required by regulations.
• Respond to emergencies calmly and according to policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required.
