About The Position

Snif is a fine-fragrance company whose products are sold through its direct-to-consumer website and select retail partners. The Retail Operations Manager owns retail order execution from order receipt through fulfillment, delivery, and invoicing as the company expands its distribution. The role ensures orders are processed accurately, retailer shipment and invoice requirements are met, and exceptions are resolved in time to protect commitments. This is a hands-on individual-contributor role and Snif’s primary ownership point for retail order execution. The manager coordinates with Sales, Procurement and Inventory, Finance, and manufacturing and fulfillment partners; resolves operational exceptions within agreed guidelines; and escalates inventory-allocation, commercial, or spending decisions requiring approval. The role also helps develop the processes, reporting, and tools used to support retail partners, working directly with the VP of Operations, to whom the position reports. Snif is based in New York City and operates as a remote team. The position may require travel approximately 10–20% of the time depending on business needs.

  • Sound judgment when priorities compete, with the ability to explain risks, recommend actions, and recognize when a decision requires approval.
  • Clear communication, careful attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
  • Examples of improving an operating process, with a clear explanation of the candidate’s contribution and the resulting change in accuracy, service, or manual effort.

  • Prepare and submit invoices, reconcile ordered, shipped, and invoiced quantities, and work with Finance to resolve discrepancies and deductions.
  • Investigate operational chargebacks, prepare dispute documentation, track deadlines, and address recurring causes.
  • Own retail order-execution readiness for new retailer and item launches, including operational data checks, test orders, documented workflows, and handoffs with Commercialization, Sales, Procurement and Inventory, and fulfillment partners.
