About The Position

Guitar Center’s Operations Associate supports store operations by handling inventory and shipments, completing daily tasks, and merchandising products to help create a positive customer experience. The role contributes to Guitar Center’s mission of nurturing lifelong musicians and enabling people to experience the joy of creating music. Successful associates collaborate with teammates, focus on customers, take initiative, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, protect people and assets by following protocols, and learn the technology and retail systems needed for the work.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Able to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Able to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
• Able to provide an excellent customer experience.
• Able to identify opportunities and issues, learn quickly, and take initiative.
• Able to manage priorities, multitask, and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.
• Able to follow protocols and guidelines to protect assets and people.
• Able to learn and use technology, retail systems, equipment, and computer programs needed for the role.

Responsibilities

• Handle tasks related to inventory control.
• Ship and receive gear and other items.
• Prepare and execute inventory cycle counts.
• Stock and merchandise products according to a planogram.
• Print and place signage and price signs (POP).
• Handle cash.
• Maintain awareness of and help control shrink.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
