About The Position

The Retail Merchandising Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team, and supporting an excellent customer experience. The role engages with customers, maintains a clean and organized store, and models exceptional customer service.

The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes processing merchandise onto the sales floor. They train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles, ensure merchandise is tagged, hung, secured, and coded correctly, and coordinate with the Coordinator on Duty to maintain efficient flow of goods. They monitor team productivity, help ensure tasks follow the store plan, organize and rotate back stock, and uphold merchandising, signage, backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards.

The position also supports compliance with recycling and applicable hazardous waste programs, labor laws, policies, and procedures; communicates priorities and progress; provides and accepts feedback; partners with Management on training needs; promotes credit and loyalty programs; supports shrink reduction; and promotes safety. Other duties may be assigned.

• 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute receiving and merchandising standards while supporting efficient, effective teamwork among Associates.
• Engage and interact with customers, maintain a clean and organized store, and model exceptional customer service.
• Promote a positive internal and external customer experience, honesty, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
• Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
• Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
• Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
• Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
