About The Position

The Merchandising Coordinator executes receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes merchandise processing onto the sales floor; trains and mentors Associates; monitors productivity and coaches as needed; and partners with management on training needs. The role also supports merchandise presentation and backroom organization, ensures compliance with store policies and applicable programs, communicates priorities and progress, and contributes to safety, shrink reduction, credit, and loyalty initiatives. Other duties may be assigned. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 1278 in Marquette, Michigan. The starting pay range is $15.00–$15.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

One year of retail experience and six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck deliveries, prioritizing processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates, and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
