About The Position

Altman Plants is seeking enthusiastic Retail Merchandisers to work at retail store locations, independently and as part of a team. The role involves stocking and displaying fresh plant material, unloading plants from delivery racks, and maintaining plants and displays in a sales-ready condition. Team members communicate regularly with coworkers, vendors, customers, and retail associates, and help ensure garden centers are clean, safe, and attractive. The position involves outdoor work in changing weather conditions, and scheduled hours vary by season, weather, and sales demands. Flexible scheduling options and paid training are offered.

Requirements

Positive attitude and teamwork skills, with the ability to work unsupervised at times.
Ability to communicate well with customers, coworkers, managers, and store personnel.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.
Comfort working in various weather conditions.
Proof of driver's license and auto insurance.
Reliable transportation to and from assigned stores.
Clean DMV driving record.
Proficiency with mobile apps for clocking in and out and completing tasks.

Responsibilities

Stock and display fresh plant material in garden centers from delivery racks.
Help maintain a sales-ready appearance for plants and displays.
Work and communicate cooperatively with coworkers, vendors, and retail associates.
Remove and dispose of non-sellable plants.
Assist with inventory cycle counts.
Assist with resets, building displays, and special events.
Follow company policies and safety guidelines.
Keep work areas clean and safe.
Use tools such as pallet jacks, pruners, and ladders.
Work assigned schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Ensure empty delivery racks are ready and available for pickup.
