About The Position

The Retail Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes assisting with customer purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, processing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising standards, and contributing to store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. Associates support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect and provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback. The position is at the TJ Maxx store at 26050 Gratiot Avenue in Roseville, Michigan. Starting pay is $14.25 to $14.75 per hour, with actual starting pay dependent on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits are subject to applicable plan terms and, in some cases, service or hours requirements.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
Role-model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and help maintain cleanliness throughout the store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Work in multiple store areas when cross-trained to support business needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
