About The Position

The Retail Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate follows operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple areas of the store to support business needs. The role includes supporting a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect; accurately processing customer purchases and returns; promoting credit and loyalty programs; preparing and merchandising products for the sales floor; and maintaining store recovery, cleanliness, and organization standards. The associate also supports shrink-reduction and safety programs, follows applicable labor laws and company procedures, and performs other duties as assigned. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 0780, 1487 Highway 17 North, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Starting pay is $15.00 to $15.50 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
Model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Follow the merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain sales-floor organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards and help maintain and clean the entire store.
Give and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Follow labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs.
