Retail Merchandise Associate Backroom
About The Position
The Retail Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The position includes processing merchandise for the sales floor, supporting merchandising and store recovery, and contributing to store safety and shrink-reduction efforts. Associates may also ring customer purchases and returns, promote credit and loyalty programs, and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
- Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participate in maintaining and cleaning the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
