About The Position

The Retail Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, embodying customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes assisting customers, accurately handling purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, processing merchandise for the sales floor, and maintaining merchandising, recovery, cleanliness, and safety standards. Associates also support store culture, loss prevention and shrink-reduction goals, and compliance with labor laws, policies, and procedures. The position is at the TJ Maxx store at 3001 West Highway in Monroe, North Carolina. Starting pay is $12.75–$13.25 per hour, with actual pay determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Role-model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support and embody a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
