Retail Men's Department Supervisor (Full Time)
About The Position
The Retail Men's Department Supervisor executes receiving and merchandising standards and ensures Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, store cleanliness and organization, and exceptional customer service. The supervisor coordinates truck deliveries and merchandise processing, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and helps ensure tasks are completed according to the store plan. The role also supports merchandise presentation, backroom organization, safety, compliance, and store shrink reduction. The position is based at the TJ Maxx store at 18290 Royalton Road in Strongsville, Ohio. Starting pay is $14.50 to $15.00 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
Requirements
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Superior communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.

- 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
- Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
- Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
- Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
- Coordinate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
- Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
- Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
- Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
- Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
- Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
- Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
