Retail Housekeeping Associate - Overnight, Herald Square - Full Time
About The Position
The Retail Housekeeping Associate’s primary responsibility is to ensure the store is cleaned every day for customers. The role may also include distributing merchandise bags and boxes and carrying out customer purchases. The colleague performs other duties as needed and maintains customer service as the top priority while interacting courteously and professionally with customers and colleagues. This full-time overnight position is at Macy’s Herald Square. Schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled for 30 or more hours per week. The position involves cleaning fitting rooms, picking up trash in registers, restrooms, offices, and common areas, cleaning and restocking restrooms, dusting the sales floor, and maintaining carpet and tile floors. The colleague also supports shortage-prevention initiatives and is expected to attend work dependably and punctually.
Requirements
- No education required.
- 1–2 years of direct experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
- Resourcefulness and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk around the store or department for prolonged periods.
- May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision, and climbing ladders.
- Ability to use a ladder, vacuum, broom/mop, high-speed buffer, pushcart, and hand truck.
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
