About The Position

Technicians handle a range of installations, repairs, break-fix work, and upgrades for retail security products, including POS systems, networks, networked devices, access points, routers, switches, and RFID smart-lock access. They also set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless connections in various environments, ensuring adequate signal strength for clients. Travel to various markets is required and paid. Training is provided.

Requirements

Be over the age of 18.
Have a current driver's license, insurance, and a vehicle.
Have previous IT or related technical technician experience.
Have technical aptitude and experience with cabling runs, management, testing, termination, and network provisioning.
Have excellent communication skills by phone, text, and email.
Have a smartphone or mobile device.
Have flexible availability.
Be able to use hand tools frequently.
Be able to lift 60 pounds or more on occasion and climb up and down ladders.
Demonstrate strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, knowledge of networking technologies, communication and teamwork skills, and customer-support aptitude.

Nice To Haves

Certifications; they are a plus but not required.
POS experience.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, troubleshoot, and upgrade retail security products and related technology.
Set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless connections, ensuring adequate signal strength for clients.
Run, manage, test, and terminate cabling, and provision networks.
Test networks and Wi-Fi signals, including heat mapping.
Install and troubleshoot access points, routers, and switches.
Travel to various markets for work.
