Retail Field, Low Voltage & Network Technicians
About The Position
MTI is seeking flexible field, low-voltage, and network technicians for its Service Tech US department. Technicians implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices, including access points, routers, switches, POS systems, printers, and modems. They set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless connections in a variety of environments and establish adequate signal strength for client use. Training is provided. The position requires travel in various markets, and the posting notes that weekday availability may be arranged around other work for freelancers and small-business owners.
Requirements
- Previous IT or related technical technician experience.
- Current driver's license, vehicle, and insurance.
- Technical inclination and experience with cabling runs, management, testing, and termination, and network provisioning.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of various networking technologies.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, and aptitude for customer support.
- Smartphone mobile device.
- Flexible availability.
- Ability to use hand tools frequently.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds or more on occasion, climb ladders, and perform regular standing, walking, bending, and overhead reaching.
- Ability to use a computer and telephone system.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Travel is required.

Responsibilities

- Perform cabling runs, management, testing, and termination, and network provisioning.
- Test networks and Wi-Fi signals, including heat mapping.
- Install and troubleshoot access points, routers, and switches.
- Travel to client locations in various markets.
- Communicate with clients and team members by phone, text, and email.
