About The Position

The Retail Department Supervisor is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role helps deliver an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The supervisor orchestrates truck deliveries and merchandise processing, trains and coaches Associates, monitors productivity, and helps maintain backroom organization and store standards. The position also supports safety, compliance, customer loyalty, and shrink-reduction efforts.

Requirements

• One year of retail experience.
• Six months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive internal and external customer experience and role-model exceptional customer service.
• Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
• Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support the efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
• Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
• Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy, signage standards, and backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous-waste programs.
• Communicate priorities and progress accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
