About The Position

The Retail Deli Associate (Deli Attendant) supports Valley Wide Cooperative by handling food safely and providing strong customer service. This is a safety-sensitive position. The associate acknowledges customers, employees, and vendors; assists customers with food orders; keeps the work area clean and organized; answers multiple phone lines; restocks items as time allows; and assists other employees. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must be willing to become certified in safe food handling upon hire.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks based on importance and level of need.
• Ability to communicate using proper telephone etiquette with customers, employees, and vendors.
• Strong team-player focus in all interactions.
• Ability to handle money, give change, and record multiple transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Must exhibit a professional and positive image.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
