About The Position

The Retail Controls Specialist is responsible for ensuring operational excellence and monitoring branch performance for operational consistency, process adherence, and procedural accuracy in multiple branch locations. The goal of this position is to align process and procedure with branch compliance and operational excellence. This position will partner with cross departmental stakeholders in the completion of organizational projects, department specific initiatives, training and development, system design and testing, process and procedure development, problem resolution and department specific planning.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • 2-4 years’ experience in financial services
  • Experience designing banking process maps and supporting banking procedures.
  • Understanding business process methodology
  • Strong understanding of branch audit controls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Requires the ability to plan, organize and prioritize
  • Adheres to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations governing the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

Responsibilities

  • Supports branches in meeting performance objectives via onsite branch support, training and development and coaching to current practices.
  • Creates, maintains, updates, all procedural documents.
  • Collaborates with Branch Managers to support and monitor branch controls, including key log management, all branch combinations, and branch variance solutions.
  • Serves as focal point for communication to and from the branches in areas included, but not limited to, operational effectiveness, controls, compliance, risk management, and transactional processes.
  • Supports monitored internal audit requirements such as cash positions, vault, and cash recyclers. Monitors and reviews all operational reports to ensure operational excellence.
  • Supports the operational readiness of new or remodeled branch locations.
  • Supports branch cash monitoring and orders.
