Retail Cashier (Part-Time)
About The Position
AAA Club Alliance is hiring a part-time Retail Cashier to provide customer service and support sales in a retail environment. The role handles store transactions, reconciles daily payments, assists customers, and promotes AAA products. Cashiers may also process passport photos and issue international or inter-American driving permits, and provide backup support for Tag and Title and IDEMIA services when applicable. The listed starting base compensation is $18.82 to $24.00 per hour, adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. The position is eligible for incentive pay, with an average payout of $162.00 to $389.00 per month. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; the role has a part-time schedule and no Sundays. The location is 6290 Arlington Boulevard, Falls Church, VA 22044.
Requirements
- Previous sales and customer service experience, particularly in a cash-handling position.
- Effective written and oral communication skills for engaging customers and explaining the value of AAA memberships.
- Computer skills and ability to navigate multiple websites and programs while multitasking in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Notary Public designation or willingness to obtain it within six months of employment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Satisfactory pre-employment and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and state- and/or vendor-specific screenings.
- Ability to obtain necessary Membership license or other licenses as required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Responsibilities
- Handle payments for all store transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Reconcile daily transactions and prepare bank deposits at the end of each shift.
- Greet and assist customers, ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously.
- Consistently upsell and cross-sell AAA products, including new memberships, credit cards, and insurance referrals.
- Process passport photos and issue International/Inter-American Driving Permits as required.
- Provide backup assistance with Tag and Title and IDEMIA services, if applicable.
