About The Position

The Retail Backroom Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively, and supporting teamwork. The role helps deliver an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service.

The Coordinator orchestrates truck deliveries and prioritizes processing merchandise onto the sales floor. They train and mentor Associates, ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and coordinate with the Coordinator on Duty to support the efficient flow of goods. They monitor team productivity, organize and rotate back stock, uphold merchandising and signage standards, and maintain backroom organization, cleanliness, and recovery. The role also supports compliance, safety, shrink reduction, and store credit and loyalty programs, while communicating priorities and progress with management and Associates.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive internal and external customer experience and role-model exceptional customer service.
• Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
• Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
• Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
• Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
• Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
• Give and receive recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
