About The Position

The Retail Associate at The Salvation Army Thrift Store helps support the Adult Rehabilitation Center program through customer service, donation processing, merchandise preparation, and store upkeep. The role involves assisting customers and donors, processing sales, and maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming store. Paid training on register and store procedures is provided, with ongoing coaching and support from store leadership.

Requirements

• Ability to provide friendly customer service.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Basic communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
• Ability to bend, reach, and lift or move merchandise throughout the day.
• High school diploma or currently pursuing.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail, cashier, customer service, or thrift store experience.
• Experience using a point of sale system.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Operate the register and process sales transactions accurately.
• Assist donors with donations according to center policy.
• Sort, process, hang, tag, price, and prepare donated merchandise.
• Move priced merchandise to the sales floor, display areas, or other designated locations.
• Keep the store clean, safe, and organized.
• Work with team members to support daily sales and production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
