About The Position

The Area Manager at Peel Region shall provide leadership, direction, and goals for an Operations Team. Responsible for supervising multiple projects by managing numerous supervisor / store managers, leading and supervising multiple projects by managing numerous store managers and direct reports, as well as assuming a role acting as an intermediary between field operations and management, providing leadership, knowledge, direction and goals for Store Managers and their Teams. The Area Manager shall also hold responsibilities for the achievement of aggressive operations goals and targets, focusing on high levels of customer satisfaction and overall sales performance for at least 5-6 stores in their area. These store assignments could change from time to time based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years in the retail Industry in a multi-unit role.
  • CannSell Certification and Clean police record check.
  • Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and use of the Internet.
  • Must be well spoken and possess the ability to speak clearly and confidently in all business settings.
  • Ability to conduct and reside over meetings.
  • Excellent Business Math skills. The ability to read, understand and calculate math calculations such as discounts, interest rates, percentages etc. Ability to apply concepts of basic math and written skills.
  • Ability to delegate, set expectations and monitor progress of all direct reports.
  • Ability to motivate, inspire, provide, and accept feedback to and from employees.
  • Prioritization skills necessary to use time effectively and set action plans to achieve business targets.
  • Takes responsibility for subordinates' activities, is available to staff, provides regular performance feedback, develops subordinates' skills, and encourages growth.
  • Regional Travel is an essential requirement in this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Cannabis Retail Store Manager license from AGCO an asset.
  • A valid First Aid certification is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Supervising up to 7-12 stores, which may change as per business needs.
  • Ensuring the communication, understanding and belief in the company's goals and mission statement, and coaching all employees to work towards a common company objective.
  • Responsible for company monthly and weekly revenue and profit projections.
  • Overseeing Store Managers to ensure that daily and weekly staff schedules are in direct relation to daily, weekly revenue.
  • Reviewing monthly sales objectives and developing strategies to achieve targets.
  • Giving prompt and proper direction to Store Managers and Direct reports.
  • Providing leadership and support for all direct reports to ensure they excel in their roles to enhance employee engagement in order to drive results and achieve top performance.
  • Developing a positive collaborative working relationship with staff and partners to aid company performance.
  • Adhering to and enforcing all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Attending to any emergencies as they arise at the store level and providing resolution or the appropriate level of communication.
  • Identifying operational and merchandising deficiencies in all stores and providing solutions and guidance to all stores.
  • Leading training initiatives to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Assuming responsibility for job and store profitability by finding areas of improvement and implementing initiatives.
  • Developing a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization to accomplish the company’s mission.
  • Attending Store and Head office meetings as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
