About The Position

Jump Start Stores is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time Accounting Assistant to support our finance team. This role is ideal for individuals who are pursuing or have completed a degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for performing account reconciliations, processing and applying accounts payable, compiling and submitting reports, and assisting with journal entries and various day-to-day accounting tasks.

Requirements

• Valid U.S. citizenship.
• Currently pursuing or has obtained a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week with flexibility to adjust as needed.

• Familiarity with accounting software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Process and apply accounts payable transactions.
• Compile and submit financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing and posting journal entries.
• Support general accounting functions, including data entry and record-keeping.
• Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
