About The Position
The Retail 2nd Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering an exceptional employee and guest experience and driving profitable top-line sales growth. The role contributes to team development, guest engagement and loyalty, store presentation, operational execution, inventory management, expense control, safety, and loss prevention while working toward Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building a high-performing team that represents Newell Brand Values.
- Contribute to effective onboarding and ongoing development of team members.
- Recognize and address positive and negative HR-related situations through performance management.
- Help motivate, inspire, and retain top talent; provide coaching and foster a positive work environment.
- Contribute to a store environment focused on exceptional guest experience, sales results, and a safe, inviting shopping and working experience.
- Deliver an emotionally engaging guest experience by understanding guest needs, applying product knowledge, and making emotional connections.
- Maximize sales potential by implementing company selling strategies, coaching selling behaviors, and maximizing the Guest Sales Leader role.
- Drive guest loyalty through the Rewards Loyalty program, KPIs, Best Guest communication, and Grass Roots Marketing.
- Build lasting customer relationships to enhance loyalty.
- Maintain store appearance by implementing company visual standards, including plan-o-grams, planning, visual maintenance, signage, and cleanliness.
- Assist in analyzing the business and creating action plans for effective execution of operational activities.
- Help identify root causes and create action plans that drive results.
- Ensure clear, effective team communication that creates understanding and alignment.
- Support inventory management activities and control expenses.
- Incorporate safety and loss prevention measures into daily activities and follow company policies and the Code of Ethics.
- Achieve or exceed KPI goals through strategic planning, effective execution, and continuous performance improvement.
