About The Position

This retail position requires strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, and an outgoing personality. The associate must be able to work effectively with staff and volunteers, and relate to people from diverse backgrounds. This job cannot be performed remotely. Key responsibilities include receiving, pricing, and stocking donated merchandise, providing customer service, and performing other duties as directed by management. The role also involves participating in and supporting agency activities as requested. Essential functions include offering customer assistance, maintaining housekeeping standards, stocking and rotating merchandise, assisting customers in locating items, maintaining an organized and safe store environment, receiving donations using a computer system, cross-training as needed, and loading/unloading merchandise. The job also involves performing construction tasks related to deconstruction, preparing and logging deconstruction inventory, and complying with company policies. The associate will assist in donation pick-ups and deconstruction as needed. Basic English proficiency is required for safety and efficiency. Regular and reliable attendance is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school (diploma or equivalent) preferred
  • Equivalent education or experience in job related activities
  • Very customer oriented
  • Friendly and helpful demeanor
  • Positive attitude in high stress situations

  • Performing construction tasks related to Deconstruction
  • Preparing Deconstruction inventory: identify, label, record merchandise
  • Logging Deconstruction inventory into stoker, price and display
  • Complying with company policies and procedures
  • Participating in Annual Review Process
  • Ensuring that all Habitat for Humanity International and Affiliate Policies and Guidelines are followed
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Assisting in Donation pick –up as needed
  • Assisting in Deconstruction as needed
  • Participating as staff support at the build site as needed
