About The Position

This retail position requires strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, and an outgoing personality. The role involves working with staff and volunteers and requires the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds. The ReStore Donation Pick-Up Ambassador is responsible for safely driving the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville (HFHGN) donation truck, including loading and unloading donations from the Nashville area. This role also includes responsibility for truck maintenance, covering mechanical aspects, safety, and cleanliness when assigned. This job cannot be performed remotely.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school (diploma or equivalent) preferred, or equivalent education or experience in job-related activities.
  • Experience in driving commercial trucks or towing trailers.
  • Good driving record.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to load and unload merchandise – donations, Deconstruction, business, and customers.
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to maintain office/donor relationships electronically through Vonigo scheduling platform, email, and phone.
  • Ability to adhere to all safety regulations, both company, OSHA and TDOT.
  • Ability and desire to work respectfully with people of all cultures, languages, national origins, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions, classes, immigration statuses, sexual orientations, gender identity and expressions, ages, mental or physical abilities, and other diversity factors.
  • Must conduct all activities in accordance with Habitat principles.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving donated merchandise, pricing, stocking, customer service, and cashier duties.
  • Maintaining office/donor relationships electronically through the Vonigo scheduling platform, email, tablet, and phone.
  • Screening donations to determine usability for ReStore Stock merchandise.
  • Rotating and facing merchandise on shelves.
  • Assisting customers by locating merchandise.
  • Cross-training as required by Management.
  • Proper packing and securing of donated items.
  • Unloading and loading donations at designated ReStore locations.
  • Providing efficient, professional service to donors and sharing the Habitat ReStore mission.
  • Ensuring vehicles are properly maintained on driving days, using a weekly inspection sheet.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards by cleaning and dusting the area as needed.
  • Assisting in Donation pick-up as needed.
  • Assisting in Deconstruction as needed, performing construction tasks related to DeConstruction.
  • Preparing Deconstruction inventory: identifying, labeling, and recording merchandise.
  • Participating in the Annual Review Process.
  • Complying with company policies and procedures.
  • Participating in and supporting agency activities as requested, including staff support at the build site.
  • Ensuring all Habitat for Humanity International and Affiliate Policies and Guidelines are followed.
  • Performing other duties as directed by management.
  • Providing customer assistance at all times.
