About The Position

Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity is hiring a hands-on Mover & Driver to collect donated items that support affordable housing for local families across the Cape Fear region. The role involves picking up, loading, transporting, and unloading donations; serving donors and community members; operating a box truck; completing receipts and paperwork; and maintaining clean trucks and work areas. The position contributes to the organization's mission of building homes, communities, and hope.

Schedule availability is Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pay is $17.77–$18.27 per hour. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and good driving record, be able to perform regular physical work, and pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screening, and motor vehicle record review.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift and move 75+ pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, bend, squat, climb, and perform physical work throughout the day.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to Habitat's mission of building homes, communities, and hope.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screening, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.

Nice To Haves

• Box truck, moving, or warehouse experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, load, transport, and unload donated items.
• Provide excellent customer service to donors and community members.
• Assist with operating a box truck and safely securing loads.
• Complete donation receipts and required paperwork.
• Maintain clean trucks, donation areas, and warehouse spaces.
• Follow all safety procedures and traffic laws.
