About The Position

Greater Middlesex & Morris Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization and an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. The Driver is a full-time role based at Morris Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore in Randolph, New Jersey, reporting to the Donations Manager. The position picks up donations from residences and businesses in the Greater Morris County area and assists customers and donors with loading and unloading merchandise. It also supports retail operations by cleaning and organizing the warehouse, loading dock, and retail floor, and supervising volunteers as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience driving a 17-foot box truck with automatic transmission, especially in residential neighborhoods.
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
Friendly and personable, with strong customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; a CDL is not required.
Ability to operate a forklift; training will be provided.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a retail store environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

Drive to and from locations in the Greater Morris County area to assist with transporting merchandise.
Unload all merchandise at the end of the day and place it on the sales floor; mark or identify all parts and pieces.
Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager to place merchandise appropriately and report needed repairs.
Communicate with the Scheduling Coordinator about pickups, truck maintenance issues, route problems, and delays.
Train truck helpers.
During downtime, assist in the ReStore by cleaning and organizing the retail floor, warehouse, loading dock, and new merchandise.
Assist customers and donors with loading and unloading merchandise.
Supervise volunteers as needed.
