About The Position

A Driver/Mover at St. Matthew’s House picks up donated items and delivers customer purchases throughout Collier, Lee, and Hendry Counties. The position involves driving and maneuvering large box trucks, handling and moving heavy items, and working at warehouses, trucks, donor pickup sites, businesses, and private homes. It requires flexibility in work hours, some overtime, and work on some holidays. The role also handles confidential information.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Must pass an MVR.
• Minimum 2 years of trucking, moving, and customer service experience, or related experience.
• Ability to safely handle large box trucks and maneuver in and out of tight areas.
• Ability to lift and carry more than 75 pounds up and down stairs for extended periods, in all seasons.
• Trustworthiness, ability to work well in a team, and a neat, professional appearance.
• Ability to work safely and cooperatively in varied situations with different customers.
• Maintain a high level of customer service, including safety, courtesy, and positive communication.
• Flexibility in work hours; some overtime is required.
• Ability to work on some holidays.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Normal mental and visual capabilities.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pick up donated items and deliver customer purchases throughout Collier, Lee, and Hendry Counties.
• Safely operate and maneuver large box trucks, including in tight areas.
• Provide courteous, positive, safety-conscious customer service and ensure other staff do the same.
• Lift and carry items weighing more than 75 pounds, including up and down stairs for extended periods.
