About The Position

The ReStore Pickup & Delivery Driver serves as an ambassador for San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, picking up donated merchandise throughout the organization’s service area and delivering donations using Habitat for Humanity vehicles. The position involves daily communication with donation coordinators to ensure routes are completed. Once pickup duties are finished, the driver works in the ReStore warehouse and on the sales floor and may assist in other areas as requested. The role is physically demanding, requiring frequent heavy lifting and moving of furniture and appliances, sometimes up or down a flight of stairs.

Requirements

At least 2 years of commercial truck driving experience, such as with 18-foot box trucks, bobtails, or stake beds.
High school diploma or GED; equivalent work experience will be considered.
Valid California Driver’s License.
Clean pre-employment and ongoing driving record.
Team player.
Basic smartphone and tablet computer skills.
Responsibility to report to work every day.
Ability to understand and relate to diverse populations.
Strong problem-solving, clear communication, active listening, and people skills.
Level-headed, organized, meticulous, self-motivated, and spatially intelligent.
Ability to stand for 8 hours per day.
Ability to meet the heavy physical demands of the job and safely lift and carry heavy objects.
Ability to push and pull heavy furniture up one flight of stairs.
Ability to assist in retail stores after pickups are completed.
Ability to withstand changing weather while completing pickups.

Nice To Haves

OSHA or forklift training.
Furniture moving experience.

Responsibilities

Push and pull heavy furniture and appliances in residential homes, including carrying items up or down a flight of stairs when needed.
Pick up and deliver donations using Habitat for Humanity vehicles, including box trucks and stake bed trucks.
Load trucks securely so items can be transported and unloaded safely while maximizing truck space.
Use appropriate tools and equipment to transport donations safely.
Help keep trucks maintained and clean, perform minor repairs as needed, and conduct regular upkeep inspections such as checking tire pressure, oil, and fluids.
Ensure donations are sellable and meet the ReStore’s donation criteria.
Work in the ReStore warehouse and on the sales floor when pickup duties are complete.
Assist in other areas as requested.
Communicate daily with donation coordinators to ensure routes are completed.
