Restoration Technician
About The Position
The Restoration Technician responds to property-damage emergencies and performs restoration and cleanup work, including water extraction, drying, fire-damage restoration, demolition, and site cleanup. The role involves setting up specialty equipment, preparing and maintaining work vehicles, communicating site conditions and safety needs to supervisors, and keeping clients informed about the restoration process. The position may suit someone with handyman or construction experience who enjoys teamwork, hands-on work, outdoor work, learning new skills, and helping people in the community.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid extensive background check.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling heights and in tight spaces such as crawl spaces and attics.
- Ability to repetitively push, pull, lift, and carry objects.
- Ability to work with or around cleaning agents.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
- IICRC certification is a plus.
- Previous handyman or construction experience.
- Enjoyment of teamwork, learning new skills, helping others, making a difference in the community, working outdoors, and hands-on work.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water damage and fire damage.
- Evaluate and perform restoration activities, including water extraction, fire-damage work, specialty equipment setup, and demolition.
- Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and supplies needed for each project.
- Communicate safety hazards, job-site findings, and equipment and tool requirements to supervisors.
- Communicate with clients, address their concerns, and explain the restoration process.
- Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying, and site cleanup.
