Restoration Technician
About The Position
The Restoration Technician responds to property-damage emergencies, including water and fire damage, and performs restoration and cleanup work to return properties to their prior condition. The role includes water extraction, drying, site cleanup, demolition, and setup of specialty equipment. Technicians prepare and maintain work vehicles and supplies, communicate job-site findings and safety concerns to supervisors, and keep clients informed about their concerns and the restoration process. The position involves hands-on work, often outdoors and as part of a team, and may include occasional on-call shifts in the evenings, on weekends, and on holidays.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work occasional on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, and work in tight spaces such as crawl spaces and attics.
- Ability to repetitively push, pull, lift, and carry objects.
- Ability to work with or around cleaning agents.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in restoration, construction, or a related field is preferred.
- IICRC certification is a plus.
- Previous handyman or construction experience.
- Enjoys working in teams, learning new skills, helping others, serving the community, working outdoors, and working with hands.
Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including water and fire damage.
- Evaluate and perform restoration activities, including water extraction, fire-damage work, specialty-equipment setup, and demolition.
- Load, inventory, and maintain work vehicles with tools, equipment, and supplies needed for each project.
- Communicate safety hazards, job-site findings, and equipment and tool requirements to supervisors.
- Communicate with clients, address their concerns, and explain the restoration process.
- Perform restoration and cleanup tasks, including water extraction, drying, and site cleanup.
