About The Position
This is an entry-level structured training program in the food service area of a Wegmans store. The program is designed to be completed within 6 months, with support from a mentor and trainer. The role develops leadership skills through learning company values, business measures, standards, and operations in a dynamic retail environment. The trainee helps ensure knowledgeable and passionate team members educate customers and provide fresh, restaurant-quality products. Successful program completion results in an interview or placement as a shift leader.
Requirements
- Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery, or retail setting.
- Computer skills.
- Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities
- Focus on company standards regarding merchandising, highlighting the quality, freshness, and uniqueness of products.
- Use product passion and knowledge to educate team members and customers on product offerings.
- Proactively approach customers, answer questions, help locate items, and offer suggestions to complete their meals.
