About The Position

The Restaurant Line Cook prepares breakfast, dinner, and occasional banquet meals at Holiday Inn Portland Airport. The role involves preparing menu items according to standardized recipes, maintaining food quality and consistency, and contributing to memorable dining experiences for hotel guests. The cook works with restaurant staff in a fast-paced kitchen and maintains a clean, organized, and inspection-ready station.

Requirements

Valid Oregon Food Handlers Card.
Previous line cook or commercial kitchen experience.
Understand food safety and sanitation standards.
Able to multitask while maintaining quality.
Dependable and ready to work each shift.
Communicate effectively with coworkers and restaurant staff.
Committed to providing exceptional guest experiences.
Open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Able to stand for extended periods.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Able to work safely in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare high-quality menu items using standardized recipes.
Set up and stock the cooking station before each shift.
Cook and plate food consistently and with attention to detail.
Maintain proper food temperatures and follow safe food-handling practices.
Assist with preparation tasks such as chopping, portioning, marinating, and labeling.
Coordinate with servers to complete tickets on time.
Receive and properly store food deliveries.
Assist with food preparation for banquets and special events.
Complete opening and closing kitchen duties.
Keep the workstation clean, organized, and inspection-ready throughout the shift.
