About The Position

Ocean Restaurant, the signature dining experience at the Cape Arundel Inn & Resort, is seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join its culinary team. The restaurant serves an elegant seasonal menu featuring fresh New England ingredients. The Line Cook works with the culinary team to prepare high-quality dishes with precision and care, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and uphold the restaurant’s standards in a refined, fast-paced kitchen environment. The role offers an opportunity for a culinary professional to develop their skills.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience working in a culinary position.
Ability to multitask and demonstrate strong time-management and organizational skills.
Ability to work on your feet for eight hours or more per day.
Ability to regularly lift at least 40 pounds.
High level of professionalism.
Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure the kitchen, food preparation areas, and food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards.
Memorize and use serving portion sizes and basic meal preparation procedures.
Monitor product freshness and rotate products according to the restaurant’s schedule.
Work with other cooks to prepare portions for other shifts when needed.
Prepare basic components of menu dishes using established recipes.
Demonstrate strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
Follow the chef de cuisine’s direction when preparing for service.
